The tech and gear behind my multi camera live stream

I am often asked what I use for my live stream, and there are obviously many ways of doing this, but here's what's under the hood in my set up.

The power plant of the system is a homebuilt machine running windows 7 64 bit on a Intel Extreme Motherboard with an i7 quardcore and 16 GB RAM

1 Canon XML2 (G1) camera monitoring the 3D printer (connected via Firewire from the camera directly to a Firewire connection on the motherboard)

When I bought this camera years back, it cost the same as the other three put together, but it's still a good camera with a Canon L lens

With this I send and simultaneous recording a 1080p x264 encoded stream to YouTube and then embed here on my side.

To fully understand my setup, you should know that the studio plan consists of three rooms, a relatively large and two small.

In room 1 (small) I have a stationary camera the Canon XML 2 (G1) monitoring the 3D printer, placed there because of the noise from the printer (as some have referred to as my weird taste in music)

In room 2 (small) "the workshop" here I have one of the monitors fixed on the wall and a mic on a boom (Omnitronic VRM 2200 Pro) the monitor is so I can see the video mixer and switch between cameras and microphones when I am moving between rooms.

In room 3 (big) "the studio" here is where the main computer is located and where my stopmotions recordings takes place, I then move cameras and lights around between room 2 and 3 depending on what needs to be done that day.

I hope this has given you an insight into what is going on, on the other side of the camera and you can use this to some of the things you do. If in doubt about some of it, please feel free to ask and I will help if I can.
